Valentines Day can be a dreaded holiday for many. In full honesty, I've never truly celebrated the holiday myself. This year i decided to focus my energy on galantines day since one of my biggest growths in 2016 was building strong friendships with some very inspiring women. But whether you're celebrating V-day or G-day or "Fuck it, I love my cat day" these wine gummies (See: fancier word for jello shots) are sure to hit the spot.
And as is a trend with the wine marshmallows I shared earlier this week, they are very easy to make. Plus, anytime I bring these up to friends they act as if I've created a magical treat that only a goddess is worthy of. So, you can get brownie points for that!
The first time I tried this recipe (and the one pictured here) was with cherry gelatin, but I found the flavor to be overpowering so I tried again with unflavored gelatin and had a much better appreciation for the gummies.
*Note: recipe has been adapted from Feast and West's Champagne Jello Shots*
2/3 cup of water
1 cup red wine
2 packs of unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup vodka or tequila
In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together water and gelatin until gelatin has dissolved.
Remove from heat and whisk in your red wine and vodka/tequila.
Fill in desired mold or baking pan.
Refrigerate for a minimum of 3 to 4 hours.
