It is always better to give than to receive in my opinion. If you know me then you know that I get very anxious around gift giving holidays. Not because I don't know what to get for my loved ones but because I tend to fail at expressing emotion when I open presents. I feel too much pressure and every reaction ends up coming off as too forced an fake. It never fails. And then i'm left feeling as if I have hurt someones feelings – this happens even when I get the best gifts.
The first step to any good gift wrapping session is to have a great cocktail on hand. I sipped on this
from the Tis The Season to be Spirited cocktail series that is about to wrap up this week.
A few years back I decided I was going to pick a signature gift wrapping color. At first I thought purple, or gold, or silver. Until one day I settled on black wrapping paper with the idea that I would change the ribbons or alternative decorations to match the event or holiday that the present would be gifted at. So, for the Christmas season I use red or green ribbon.
The best find of my life was the black matte wrapping paper from Paper Source. No need to buy a phony card that will be thrown away when you can delicately and beautifully write their name on the paper itself. It's a win-win!
May your holidays be blessed and full of love and family these days.
