KCFW // Friday Night

***Just a little note... we are still finishing up last minute design details for our site, but we just couldn't wait to share this post!***

Ahh... Fashion Week.

Drink it in.

We put on our cutest outfits and headed over to Union Station for

Kansas City Fashion Week

Friday night, and I couldn’t think of a more perfect venue for the elaborate show. The architecture, the lights, the runway…. Delicious. We ended up sitting next to a few of the Project Runway designers. We were too starstruck to even say hello.

Did I mention the music?

knows how to get down, and kept us groovin’ in our seats (which were surprisingly comfy).

The show was spectacular from start to finish.

line was modern and minimal with lots of solid colors. The models sported topknots any freshly-awakened gal on the run would be jealous of.

by Laura McGrew was fun, flirty, and wearable. We squealed with excitement when the first model strutted down the runway in lime green chevron high-waisted shorts. I fell in love when she did the 'double-guns' pose at the end of the runway. (An excellent shot of that by

Ok, listen... we were blown away by 17 year old

Kate Walz

Her collection was

From her shiny silver opera gloves to her breathtaking finale piece, the entire collection was

I basically had to re-evaluate my life when my fashionista partner in crime Jacque whispered in my ear

"at 17, I was just trying to pass math class"

... just let that sink in...

Lady Liberty, is that you strutting down the runway?!

This look reminded me of a modern Marilyn Monroe in Gentleman Prefer Blondes. We're in love with the colors!

And here it is! The stunning finale piece! Kate Walz, you took our breath away. The details and construction were impressive. A young prodigy she is! We can't wait to see what the future holds for this girl. Keep an eye on her, she's going places! (And by places we mean she will be representing the US in the J Autumn Fashion show on October 31st this year.)

Alicia Janesko

collection had us wishing we were at a swanky resort wearing one of her spectacular pieces. We were swooning over the impeccable details and hand-beading of her kaftans and sparkly handmade headpieces. Did we mention she had a violinist for her set? We're all for some stringed instruments.

This piece was hand-beaded and one of favorites from the night. I mean, just LOOK at these starfish. Brilliant.

We loved everything about this look. Green is underrated. So are epic headpieces.

We loved every single piece of this collection. The details were extraordinary and the colors were so fun! We were crying for a cocktail and a beach after her set.

Heidi Herrman

collection closed down the show. Her pieces were well-constructed, wearable, and delightfully feminine. Her use of earthy tones and organic patterns had us inspired. We loved the pops of color! I don't know about you guys, but all I could think about was rocking some of Heidi's pieces to the office, and then straight to happy hour after!

From the hair to the shoes this collection was put together to the smallest detail.

We'll take all three looks, please! It was a perfect way to end an impressive runway show.

KCFW, you've outdone yourself. We can't wait for next season!
